Minami-Saku, Nagano Prefecture, Japan
Brewed in the cool alpine climate of Nagano Prefecture, OHGI 24% is a bold, modern take on traditional sake. Beginning with a Junmai base, this sake is carefully fortified with a small amount of distilled alcohol (30%), then refined to reach an impressive 24% ABV—creating a powerful yet clean-drinking experience.
The result is a sake with a crisp, neutral body and subtle rice aroma, offering the clarity of shochu and the smoothness of premium sake. It drinks beautifully neat, on the rocks, or as a cocktail base, and provides an excellent substitute for spirits in “Wine & Beer Only” establishments, where full liquor service isn’t permitted.
Unlike shochu, OHGI retains sake’s gentle fermentation character, giving it depth and softness even at higher strength. This makes it ideal for creative beverage programs and adventurous pairing menus.
